OUR VISION
We endeavor to help our patrons communicate, without having spoken, through their dressing. We believe that we are purists as suit makers. The rolling lapels, the finesse of the hand-made button-holes and the drape of the suit remains our first love.
FOUNDER
Mr. J Jawaharlal Nahar was a true visionary and a pioneer in the world of bespoke menswear. He started HIS journey with a small fabric store on Godown street, and through his passion, hard work, and unwavering dedication to quality, he transformed it into one of the most successful and respected menswear brands in the region. Known for his impeccable sense of style and attention to detail, Mr. JJ Nahar became an icon in the world of menswear. Over the years, he built a team of talented pattern-makers, designers, and craftsmen who share his passion for excellence. A brand that is synonymous with quality, sophistication, and timeless style today was created.

THE start of jj & co.
J Jawaharlal Nahar started JJ & Co. - the company's first
wholesale fabric office in George Town, Chennai on the
famed Godown Street.
1989
Dev anand & jj
Dev Anand, the infamous Bollywood actor, adorns a bespoke suit made by JJ & Co. The company gets its first recognition in the cinema world for its premium fabrics and tailoring.
2013
The first his studio
The first HIS Studio opens in T.Nagar, Chennai. The store soon became popular for its bespoke tailoring and ability to satisfy a customer's precise design requirements.
2015
1st designer bespoke in chennai
HIS Studio first introduces the concept of designer bespoke for men in Chennai. The studio had in-house designers who understood a gentleman's persona and designed a bespoke ensemble.
2016
Celebrities discover his studio
With the T.Nagar studio gaining more popularity, celebrity stylists reached out to the studio to design suits for movies. The famed Kollywood actor - Rajnikanth - adorned a HIS Studio suit in the movie Kabali.
2018
Kamal hasan in big boss
The Kollywood actor, Kamal Hasan, is also seen wearing HIS Studio suits throughout his timeline in the very popular South Indian reality show - Big Boss.
2018
His studio kilpauk opens
In 2018, HIS Studio opens its 2nd store in Kilpauk, Chennai. The company also inaugurates the opening of a new factory situated near the new location.
2022
Bigger dreams, better experiences
2022 - HIS Studio has a mission which is more than 2 stores and more than one city strong. The company branched out to 2 more stores - in Adyar and Puducherry and integrated to a single production unit in Chennai!
